Isle of Dogs - Ataris Reise: Star-set stop-motion animated film by Wes Anderson on a boy who goes in search of his lost dog.
Wes Anderson's wonderful stop-motion animated film will be set in a future Japan where dog flu becomes a threat to the population. The mayor of Megasaki City banned all four-legged friends on a garbage island floating off the coast. Here are the five dogs Chief (Bryan Cranston), Rex (Edward Norton), Boss (Bill Murray), Duke (Jeff Goldblum) and King (Bob Balaban) to each other. Together, they try to escape the nightmare of scrap and garbage.
Even the boy Atari Kobayashi (Koyu Rankin) is affected by exile. The son of the mayor has lost his best friend, the Dalmatian Spots (Liev Schreiber). Somewhere on the garbage island, now known as the "Isle of Dogs," Spots fights a bitter life. To save his friend, Atari jumps from home and embarks on an adventurous journey. Once on the island, he meets Chief, Rex, Boss, Duke and King. Maybe together they will manage to flee the island.
Animals have always played a prominent role in previous films by Wes Anderson ("Moonrise Kingdom"). His latest stop-motion film, "The Fantastic Mr. Fox," was about a clever fox declaring war on a farmer. Ironically, however, dogs have had a bad time in Anderson's filmography. The beagle from "The Royal Tenenbaums" is run over, the terrier Snoopy from "Moonrise Kingdom" even captures an arrow, and the magazine "The New Yorker" already asked: "Does Wes Anderson hate dogs?" Isle Of Dogs "to apologize to the sweet four-legged friends.
Anyone who knows Wes Anderson well will immediately recognize the cast of "Isle Of Dogs". The usual suspects are Bill Murray ("Rock the Kabash"), Tilda Swinton ("Okja"), Greta Gerwig ("Jackie: The First Lady"), Scarlett Johansson ("Ghost in the Shell"), Edward Norton ("Birdman "), Jeff Goldblum (" Thor: Day of Decision "), and even Yoko Ono (" The Beatles: Eight Days a Week ") is there. A real novelty for Anderson fans is probably the cast of "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston.
